Sommelier's Choice Wine and Cheese Evening

This is what it will look like. With more wine.

Sommelier's Choice

A Wine and Cheese Flight of Fancy

with

Laithwaites Wines

Laithwaites Arch, Borough Market Wednesday, February 22nd, 6:30 for 7 pm

To open this year's series of tastings with Laithwaites wines, I have decided to surrender control to my favourite sommelier, the delectable and talented Grant Hedley. The theme for this tasting is simply this: Grant's favourite wines. He's going to pick them and I'm going to find cheeses from Britain and the rest of Europe to pair with them. Like a sound clash but with wines and cheeses instead of rival sound systems.

So I have no idea what's going to happen, except that there will be some fantastic and fascinating wines, Grant is the man who introduced me to the ‘uncompromising' Von Buhl sparkling Riesling and Vina Tondonia Blanco Reserva 2002, which was EPIC. I also know that there will be six cheeses - and this time I'm going to stretch myself with some more out of the way choices, six wines, two sourdough breads and the usual generous helpings of wit, charm and heart warming stories about wine and cheese from Grant and me. The featured wines will all be available to buy at a generous discount for ticket holders.

Tickets are £40 each and are available here.
